Swedish Health Services Dietitian Outpatient - Kidney Acquisitions in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Dietitian Outpatient (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Kidney Acquisition at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is a member of the transplant multidisciplinary team that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of patient's nutrition care throughout all phases of transplant. Provides in-depth patient nutritional assessment and teaching throughout all phases of transplant. Collaborates with inpatient dietician(s) as appropriate. Provides orientation, training and education for staff. Performs related tasks as required.
In this position you will:
Collaborates in the design and implementation of a multi-disciplinary care plan that provides for optimal outcomes
Develops and provides advanced clinical nutrition interventions to patients/families based on age, behavioral and biophysical health parameters. Develops expertise, demonstrates competency and provides care for varying age groups and for patients with a variety of co-morbidities
Coordinates care with outside facilities/agencies to ensure continuity of care. Coordinates and collaborates plan of care with inpatient dietician(s).
Develops, implements and monitors protocols, nutritional standards of care and quality improvement programs to meet JCAHO requirements and other regulatory guidelines. Evaluates and integrates medication use, as it relates to nutrition therapy, into assessments.
Participates in orientation and training of new clinical staff
Completes all duties with minimal supervision
Required qualifications for this position include :
Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics
Completion of an approved American Dietetic Association (ADA) Dietetic Education Program
Current Registered Dietitian
Washington State Certified Dietitian or obtains certification within six (6) months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s Degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics
Three (3) years experience as a clinical dietitian in a hospital setting
