Swedish Health Services Director Clinical and Biomedical Engineering in Seattle, Washington
Swedish is looking for a Director of Clinical and Biomedical Engineering (1.0 FTE, Variable) at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Director of Clinical and Biomedical Engineering is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction, and for ensuring that the standards of service are met for the Clinical and Medical Imaging Engineering team in a manner consistent with SMC's mission and values.
In this position you will:
Perform and maintain currency of essential competencies as required by specific area of hire, regulatory requirements and populations served.
Prepare and maintain departmental budgets and oversees repair budgets of the department.
Review, evaluate, and report on the quantity, quality, and effectiveness of department personnel.
Oversee maintenance of department records including equipment master files, inventory listings, and equipment maintenance histories.
Manage vendor service quality assurance program consisting of: verifying quality of vendor service, auditing field service reports for completion and accuracy, auditing vendor invoices for accuracy, approving vendor invoices for payment.
Develop, evaluate, and report on quantity, quality, and effectiveness of departmental service programs and services.
Oversee service contract evaluation, purchase, and renewal.Includes directing / participating in contract negotiation.
Write technical specifications for capital equipment purchase and participates in purchase negotiation. Represents departmental services in the construction phase as well.
Oversee pre-employment interviews and hiring process for qualified personnel.
Serve as a positive and creative role model and holds self and others accountable for high quality service standards and performance.
Facilitate staff training schedules to maximize in-house service capabilities.
Assist in assuring compliance with local, state, federal and regulatory standards.
Complete performance evaluations for staff within required time frames.
Effectively utilize software technology to manage workflow.
Establish agendas and maintain monthly staff meetings to promote effective communication of issues or problems.
Communicate with both internal and external key stakeholders in a positive and constructive manner.
Work with other Enterprise disciplines to achieve organizational goals.
Facilitate and manages retail and shared services.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree (Applicants without a Bachelor's Degree must actively pursue and attain a degree within five years)
7 years Clinical or medical imaging equipment service, with 3 years progressively more responsible experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with a wide range of staff from many different disciplines.
Performs managerial and/or technical tasks under conditions of stress and frequent interruptions.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Prior capital acquisition planning and purchase recommended.
