Swedish Health Services Director Prospect Management and Research in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Shared Services is looking for a Director Prospect Management and Research (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Foundation Management General Admin at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.

The Director of Research and Prospect Management is responsible for building and managing an innovative prospect development program to support the ambitious fundraising efforts of the Swedish Medical Center Foundation. The Director oversees all prospect development functions at the Foundation, which includes prospect identification; prospect research; prospect management and pipeline development.

In this position you will:

  • Supervise/Manage staff responsible for Prospect Research and Prospect Management and direct the services they provide to front line fundraisers.

  • Manage a comprehensive, high-volume patient screening process, a vital source of prospects for the Foundation.

  • Develop processes to identify and assign new major and principal gift prospects

  • Serve on the Principal Gift Committee to develop prospect lists and direct strategy related to principal gift prospects and donors.

  • Coordinate with Executive Director of Campaigns to develop campaign prospects pipelines and provide prospect research profiles and network webs for campaign prospects.

  • Develop a program to utilize the Foundation’s Board of Governor’s personal networks to identify new major and principal gift prospects.

  • Lead the Foundation’s Privacy committee and deliver required HIPAA training sessions to all Foundation staff members.

  • Keep informed of the latest innovations in prospect research and management and determine their applicability/usefulness to the Foundation.

  • Build a system of communication with fundraisers to understand their needs and provide support to facilitate their major gift work.

  • Coordinate with the Executive Director of Major Gifts to develop and implement major gift prospect tracking policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with Director of Operations to develop and maintain the Prospect area of Blackbaud CRM.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Non-profit or equivalent education/experience

  • Ten (10) or more years in Prospect management experience, preferably in health care or higher education

  • Eight (8) years leadership experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's degree
