Swedish Medical Center Director Research - Clinical Research Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Research Director to work in the Clinical Research Center at the Swedish First Hill Campus in Seattle, WA.
The Research Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the management of research programs, and providing administrative oversight in the development and implementation of institutional policies and procedures relating to the conduct of research projects.
In this position, you will:
Develop and communicate research goals, objectives andmission to appropriate parties, insuring that activities are congruentwith overall mission, values, vision and goals of the neuroscienceresearch program and Research Center.
Beaccountable for financial management (profit/loss), compliance, andconduct of research projects funded by Federal, for-profit, and non-profitentities.
Beaccountable for competency and wellbeing of research staff
Promotean environment of cooperation and collaboration between internalinvestigators and the surrounding research community
Work inconjunction with internal and external boards to promote ethical researchand community involvement
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate degree inscience and/or business preferred at a minimum. Post Graduate degreepreferred (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of five yearsexperience in research administration at academic or independent researchinstitution
Advanced workingknowledge of regulatory requirements (federal, state and local) foradministration of research
Excellent communicationskills, both verbal and written
Long-term strategicvision and ability to present ideas effectively in a variety of settings
Working knowledge ofcomputers (either DOS-based or Macintosh), standard office softwarepackages (Word, WordPerfect, Lotus, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.),standard office equipment (photocopiers, facsimiles, telephones, pagers,etc.)

Knowledgeable about research development
A team player, able to work with all levels of employees in a respectful and supportive way

The 697-bed tertiary-care center on the Swedish/First Hill campus is the flagship of the Swedish health-care system.
