Swedish Medical Center Employee Health Nurse in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for an Employee Health Nurse, Multi-Campus (Per Diem, Days).
The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for developing and administering programs which contribute to improved health and prevention of illness in SMC employees. Activities include, but are not limited to, new employee health screening, provision of appropriate vaccines, TB screening, medical referrals and employee assistant program referrals.
In this position you will:
Refer employees for both physical consultation and emotional counseling to either medical physicians, Wellspring Employee Assistance Program (EAP), or other community resources as appropriate
Notify Epidemiology/Infection control of communicable exposures or risks
Evaluate a pre-employment medical health questionnaire for all new hires and take appropriate action per department policies for PPDs, vaccination, and documentation
Provide a monthly report to Epidemiology or Infection Control listing communicable risks such as PPD conversions, pertussis exposures, scabies, etc
Coordinate TB prevention program to include PPDs, chest x-rays and referrals to either private physicians, ID Physician, or the Seattle King County Public Health TB Chest Clinic as indicated
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
Registered Nurse, licensed to practice Nursing in Washington State
Must be able to move a patient into a wheelchair, with assistance, and to operate a wheelchair.
Ability to draw up and administer 25 to 35 vaccinations per hour during vaccine clinics.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in injections
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification in Occupational Health
Experience in employee health, occupational health, public health, and adult education
Knowledgeable of current trends and technology in occupational/employee health
