Swedish Medical Center Environmental Services Project Technician in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a full-time Environmental Services Project Technician to work a d ay shift position in Environmental Services/Housekeeping at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that maintains the physical environment of the hospital at the highest level of cleanliness, both from an appearance and infection control standpoint.
In this position you will:
Clean patient, staff, office and support areas following established infection control and cleaning procedures, resulting in quality outcomes.
Demonstrate consistent, appropriate and safe use of all chemicals and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks.
Adhere to and demonstrates knowledge for all infection control policies and cleaning procedures required to maintain the patient care environment.
Dispose of all medical waste (regulated, chemo, recyclable, and regular) appropriately.
Prioritize work volumes appropriately, establishing reasonable time frames for completion and communicates cross shifts to assure job completion.
Respond to calls for emergent needs in a timely and professional manner and communicates any additional need for follow up to appropriate management personnel.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or equivalent
Valid Washington State driver’s license
Ability to read and write in the English language at the 8th grade level
Ability to demonstrate competence in computer use with high level of frequency
Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of units of measurement
Demonstrated knowledge in the operation of various floor machines, scrubbers, extractors, ability to drive manual transmission.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Two years’ experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting, experience as a project crew member from a professional office cleaning company, OR applicable certification from a vocational technical school will also be considered for a portion of experience
