Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Gift Shop Attendant (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in the Gift Shop at Swedish Issaquah in Issaquah, WA.

The Gift Shop Attendant is an entry level sales position in the hospital gift shops under the organizational umbrella of the Swedish Foundation. Here at the Swedish Gift Shop, we provide quality “customer-focused” service.

In this position you will:

  • Greets all walk-in customers, answers phone, facilitates sales as appropriate

  • Answers questions regarding merchandise, including descriptions, use, operations and care

  • Helps prepare merchandise for purchase or rental.

  • Maintains sales records for tracking purposes

  • Completes and manages sales transactions, including special orders, returns, adjustments, and daily reconciliation deposits

  • Restocks, arranges, and straightens displays and inventory

  • Maintains an orderly work area to include cleaning and dusting, as appropriate

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or Technical School graduate

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to efficiently perform basic math calculations and functions

  • Basic computer skills required; with competency in Microsoft Word

  • Possesses operating knowledge of (ability to use) cash registers.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inlcuding weekends and some holidays

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One year related experience

  • Must be comfortable with performing multiple tasks, with the ability to remain flexible and change direction on short notice; and possesses the ability to set priorities
