Swedish Medical Center Hospital Assistant in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Hospital Assistant (Per Diem, Variable Shift) to work in Central Dispatch and Transport at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Hospital Assistant is responsible for for efficient and timely movement of patients, specimens, supplies, and equipment throughout the hospital utilizing the appropriate mode of transportation and ancillary equipment while assuming responsibility for accurate identification of the patient, their safety and well-being.
In this position you will:
Safely transports patients throughout the medical center using two patient identifiers, ticket to ride, and the appropriate mode of transportation. Makes sure wheelchairs and stretchers are cleaned and prepped for use. Other transports include morgue deliveries, patient discharges, specimens, equipment, and supplies.
Morgue maintenance: checking temperature, making sure it is clean, ensuring accurate deliveries by identification verification, cleans transport tarps after each use.
Monitors patient safety and comfort making sure patients are adequately covered and comfortable. Assists in moving, positioning, and lifting patients as needed. Demeanor is polite, courteous, and professional.
Maintains patient right to privacy and follows HIPPA guidelines. Respects the right of patients, families, and other caregivers.
Demonstrates flexibility to meet patient care goals, i.e., covers front desk and/or control desk for short periods, directs hospital assistant traffic, assists with film room duties (scanning, deliveries, burning CDs, etc.), directs outpatients to changing rooms and gives changing instructions, escorts lost visitors and patients to their destination.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
Must have CPR certification by the completion of orientation, and maintain CPR certification biannually.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Three months patient experience
Three months experience in Epic function
