Swedish Health Services Infant Nutrition Assistant - NICU (Level IV) in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for an Infant Nutrition Assistant (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level IV) at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Infant Nutrition Assistant is responsible for the preparation of infant feedings assigned within the NICU. Works closely and collaboratively with NICU Nursing Staff, Medical Staff, HUC’s, Lactation nurses, Dietitians, Educators, Dietary Department, Healthcare Providers, vendors, and other related team members supporting Swedish families.
In this position you will:
Review feeding plans and medical orders to address the specific nutritional needs of each infant for accurate preparation of feedings using breast milk, donor breast milk, formula, fortifiers, and other additives
Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies related to the institution’s plan for enteral feeding
Perform all duties in a manner that supports team concept and respect reflecting the philosophy of the Department of nursing
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of college education (typically 24 – 30 semester hours or equivalent)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in medical environment
Medical terminology experience
Food handling experience, sanitation practices, detail-oriented related work
