Swedish Health Services Intern, Ambulatory Behavioral Health in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Group is recruiting for a Intern (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) to work at the Ambulatory health Department in Seattle, WA.

Gains relevant work experience that effectively complements academic coursework and provides an expanded understanding of health care within Swedish Medical Group.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates Swedish's core values of compassion, dignity, justice, excellence, integrity and safety to patients, caregivers, and visitors.

  • Develops a comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s structure, key personnel, strategies and history, as well as an overview of the health care environment and competition that impacts an organization.

  • Applies and further develops administrative, organizational, managerial and analytical skills.

  • Actively participates in senior level meetings and task force groups.

  • Gains a broad understanding of the area in which the internship takes place, as well as specific expertise through participation in and completion of relevant and challenging projects.

  • Assists in reviewing key operational components, including financial analysis and planning to achieve efficient business processes as well as maximize profitability and stability of the organization.

  • Assumes responsibility for projects and assignments that are assigned during key meetings

  • Presents the results of their projects to various levels of management.

  • Assists in ensuring delivery of high quality and cost effective health care consistent with Swedish’s core values, goals, and objectives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Current participation in the University of Washington MHA program

  • Healthcare industry experience
