Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Interventional RadiologyTechnologist Certified II (1.0 FTE, Days) in Interventional Radiology atSwedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA
Assists the Interventional Radiologists,
Neuroradiologists, Neurosurgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons and
Cardiologists during a variety of technical procedures including but not
limited to percutaneous interventions, diagnostic and therapeutic vascular
procedures, invasive procedures, biopsies, drain placements, AAA, TAG, ECMO,
and Intra OP Angio for Craniotomy in any of 4 IR suites and in all Hybrid OR/IR
rooms, under the direct supervision of a physician.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate functional understanding ofvarious interventional radiology imaging equipment to include digital x-ray andcomputer assisted applications.
Maintain ability to calibrate andperform analysis functions for vessel diameter and stenosis.
Understand the set-up and operation ofmonitoring equipment and vital sign recording. Provides for documentation inprocedure flowsheet as necessary.
Assess patient vital signs and condition as required, notifyingphysician of any changes.
Maintain general knowledge of departmentmedication stock and routes of administration.
Demonstrate the ability to work as acohesive team member with all physicians (surgeons and interventionalradiologists) fellows, residents, anesthesiologists, anesthesia techs, OR scrubtechs, OR nurses, IR technologists, IR nurses, students and other ancillarydepartment staff in a variety of roles including IR scrub tech, circulator, andmonitor.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of apower injector and understands contrast utilization, precautions, and reactiontreatments.
While monitoring case, record allcomponents of case on monitor sheet.
Must be available for on-call shifts asnecessary to include weekdays and weekends as assigned for vascular, neuro andinterventional radiology.
Demonstrate ability to assist with neurointervention procedures at a comprehensive stroke center and is knowledgeableand competent prepping and using the various supplies and equipment used inboth IR only and neuro IR/OR hybrid procedures.
Must be adaptable to variedworking conditions and physician preferencesParticipates in research and drug trials when applicable.
Maintain skills for withdrawing andinfusing through intra-arterial and intra-venous catheters.
Required qualifications for this position:
A two-year invasive cardiovascular program and successfully passan approved national exam for Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist(RCIS).
Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technologist program Orequivalent education/experience
Successful completion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular andHybrid procedures including sign-off by IR preceptor, and demonstratecompetency in Hybrid ORs at all locations.
6 months Tier 1 technologist, demonstrate competency by successfulcompletion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular and Hybrid proceduresincluding sign-off by IR preceptor, and demonstrate competency in Hybrid ORs atall locations.
Experience as an Interventional Technologist preferred, or as aRegistered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
At the time of hire must have Radiologic Technologist registry byARRT.
Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Diagnosticlicense required.
Post primary certification in Interventional Radiology requiredwithin 2 years of hire for the RT or Certified by the Washington StateDepartment of Health as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and RegisteredCardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
Must maintain CPR certifications, (ACLS preferred)
