Swedish Health Services Mammography Technologist - Breast Care Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Mammography Technologist (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) in the Breast Care Center at the Swedish First Hill campus in Seattle, WA.
This position is required to perform a variety of radiological technical procedures specific to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a high volume outpatient setting. Responsible for producing high quality radiographic images while interacting with all patients in a caring and comforting manner.
In this position you will:
Interact with patient, explain procedure thoroughly and answer any questions as appropriate. Model excellence in professional radiologic practice at all times while also functioning as a patient advocate.
Produce mammographic images per protocol, making appropriate technical adjustments for body size and habitus, age, and past medical history. Analyze technical quality of films and repeats when appropriate.
Perform all departmental special procedures including (but not limited to) ultrasound guided aspirations and cores, stereotactic core biopsy, galactography, and needle localizations.
Demonstrate knowledge and application of radiation safety principles for both patients and self. Provide radiation protection when appropriate.
Participate in the departmental Quality Control
Required qualifications for this position include:
Successful completion of a formal radiologic technology training program, which meets the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Depending on location, prior general radiography experience
Radiologic Technologist-Registry by ARRT upon hire
Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years full-time mammography experience
Current ARRT advanced certification in mammography
If not certified in mammography, candidate will be required to seek and pass advanced certification within 1 year of employment
Previous experience Mammography experience
