Swedish Medical Center Manager Ambulatory Surgery & Surgery Recovery - Pre and Post in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager of the Ambulatory Surgery & Surgery Recovery (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in the Pre and Post Surgery Unit/PPACU II at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Pre-op, Pre-Op holding and the Ambulatory Recovery departments ensuring adherence to practice standards, regulatory requirements, budgeting and assuring adequate department coverage.
In this position you will:
Ensure that patient care is delivered in accordance with national and best practice professional, regulatory, and medical center standards.
Establish and enforce standards of patient care and nursing practice pertain to areas of responsibility.
Develop and implement unit-based goals for the delivery of quality patient care.
Assure compliance with department standards by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care by reinforcing positive outcome and demonstrating corrective action for identified problems.
Pursue education and experience to enhance clinical and managerial role.
Assume the role of patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical and/or legal issues, and supports cultural practice.
Collaborate with clinical nurse specialist and/or clinical educator to identify, plan, and implement an educational program pertinent to the services and for all levels of staff.
Required qualifications for this position include:
BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Three years of recent management experience in a perioperative setting or extensive perioperative experience in positions of leadership
Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development stage of the patient
Must demonstrate advanced clinical and organizational skills related to the care of patients
Ability to plan and modify clinical services based on the age, growth and developmental stage of the patient
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master degree in nursing or related field
