Swedish Medical Center Medical Assistant, Licensed MA-C - Breast Care Center in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant, Licensed MA-C (0.8 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work in Breast Care Center at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Medical Assistant, Licensed MA-C plays a vital role on the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, Clinic Manager or appropriate staff to provide basic patient care to assigned patients.

In this position you will:

  • Greet and prepare patients for the practitioner. Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem.

  • Under supervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners phone messages.

  • Document all interactions in patient’s medical record.

  • Under supervision of practitioner or nurse supervisor, administer approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes.

  • Obtain non-invasive body fluid specimens.

  • May draw blood, perform EKGs; assist with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training as established procedures.

  • Provide patient mobility assistance as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of certified medical assistant program.

  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.

  • Washington State Medical Assistant Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One year medical assisting experience in a clinic setting preferred.
