Swedish Health Services Medical Assistant - Swedish Obgyn Spec First Hill in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work at Swedish Obgyn Spec First Hill in Seattle, WA.

Work under the direction of a practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients.

In this position you will:

  • Greet and prepare patients for the practitioner. Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem. Perform sight and hearing tests as indicated.

  • Ensure confirmation of patient identity with each patient encounter.

  • Obtain specimens according to clinic policies and procedures.

  • Under supervision of practitioner or nurse supervisor, administer approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, topical, otic, ophthalmologic or inhaled routes.

  • Provide patient mobility assistance as necessary.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants and certificate with H.S. Diploma or GED.

  • 6 months healthcare experience.

  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

  • Active Interim Certificate or Active Medical Assistant Certified through Washington State; required by date of hire

  • If in Active Interim Certification Status applicant must pass one of the following exams within 120 days of hire: AAMA, AMT, NHA NCCT

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN

Increasingly expanded knowledge of principles and practices governing MA role and the ability to apply them effectively.

Performs delegated work with minimal oversight.


possess expanded knowledge of vaccinations, medications, their use, to

include brand and generic names related to the clinic/location


Ability to analyze, problem solve, and prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.

Demonstrates a high degree of accountability with increasing responsibilities.
