Swedish Health Services Medical Staff Coordinator in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Medical Staff Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Medical Staff Services at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the medical staff organization's meeting structure, including the campus councils, general staff meetings, all medical staff clinical departments and assigned committees. Assists Chiefs and Chairs in the facilitation of their respective meetings, provides accurate records of the proceedings, and coordinates all follow up actions for desired outcomes.
In this position you will:
Facilitates and supports medical staff councils, general staff meetings, clinical department meetings and assigned committees. Prepares agendas and supporting documentation, consulting with chiefs and chairs
Maintains knowledge of current regulatory Medical Staff Standards and acts as a resource to Medical Staff officers and Medical Directors
Attends meetings, records proceedings succinctly and accurately to substantiate actions recommended, and consults with chiefs and chairs to assure that all action is appropriately addressed, resolved, or referred for further action; composes required correspondence and maintains meeting follow up grids to track activity and outcomes
Advises department chiefs and committee chairs of needed information, researches issues and proposes solutions
Assists the Manager with the Medical Executive Committee meetings, attends and transcribes proceedings when requested, and coordinates preparation of the Board reports
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Education/ Experience
Two (2) years experience as medical staff services professional in an acute care hospital medical staff office, responsible for coordinating meetings
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Current Certification by NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services) as CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) preferred or actively seeking certification
