Swedish Medical Center Monitor Technician I Telesitter in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Monitor Technician I Telesitter to work in the Intensive Care EICU at Swedish First Hill Campus in Seattle, WA.

This is a 0.9 FTE, day shift position.

A member of the Patient Care Services team the TelelCU Monitor Technician I Telesitter functions to provide continuous close monitoring for behavioral management or protective management observation. Patients may require observation for patient behaviors/disorders, medical conditions, falls risks and/or special needs.

In this position you will:

  • The TeleICU Monitor Technician I Telesitter is responsible for continuously monitoring patients from a remote workstation located in the TeleICU Clinical Operations Room (COR). One type of monitoring will be conducted at a time: 1) TeleICU Monitor Technician I Telesitter monitoring via telemetry of pulse oxygen saturation (Sp02) levels, or 2) monitoring via visual observation for patient safety behaviors through continuous video. Additionally, the TeleICU Monitor Technician I Telesitter provides clerical support to the workflows of the TeleICU clinical staff (Monitor Technician II, eMD and eRN) as assigned.

  • The TeleICU Monitor Technician I Telesitter observes patients, provides verbal redirection, encourages patient to stay in bed and to use the call light when needing nursing staff assistance. The TeleICU Monitor Technician I Telesitter calls the RN directly if an issue arises with the patient that needs immediate staff response by activating the STAT alarm when patient is not following direction and/or situation is emergent.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current Washington State certification as a Nursing Assistant Certified

  • Current CPR certification must be maintained at all times

  • Washington State Medical Assistant - Registered will be required with Swedish Medical Center facility application completed within 7 days of hire

  • Must obtain active license within 60 days of hire

  • Six months of acute care experience or one year of skilled nursing experience as a nurse assistant certified (NAC) or license practical nurse, nurse technician.
