Swedish Medical Center Nurse Manager - PACU and SPAU in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Nurse Manager (Full time, exempt) for the Surgery Procedure Admission Unit (Pre op and phase 2 recovery area) and the Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) Units at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Surgery and Procedure Admission Unit (SPAU) and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring adherence to practice standards, regulatory requirements, budgeting and assuring adequate department coverage.

In this position you will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor unit-based quality improvement programs.

  • Evaluate patient care and patient/family satisfaction by conducting rounds and intervening accordingly.

  • Collaborate with clinical nurse specialists and clinical educators to identify, plan, and implement an educational program pertinent to the services for all levels of staff.

  • Collaborate with the other Interventional Platform and Periop managers in regards to workflow and other campus wide initiatives

  • Be accountable for operational budgets, daily, weekly, and monthly reports and capital requests.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing Baccalaureate degree from accredited school of Nursing

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington

  • Current BLS and ACLS Certification

  • 3 years progressive leadership or management experience in a surgical facility or extensive preadmission, admission, and recovery

  • Experience in process improvement techniques, improving workflow standardization, reducing variability and improving overall efficiency and quality peri-operative services

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

  • CPAN or CCRN certification
