Swedish Medical Center Patient Service Coordinator II - Liver Disease Management in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Service Coordinator II (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) in Liver Disease Management at First Hill Madison Bldg in Seattle, WA.

The Patient Services Coordinator II functions as an integral team member of the Maternal and Fetal Specialty Center providing support and clinical coordination of multiple patient care services. The PSC II exercises independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical and administrative duties. Responsible for creating, updating and educating staff on new processes and updates to scheduling and registration.

In this position you will:

  • Coordinates clinic schedule to determine availability for appointments.

  • Uses SMC computer systems efficiently and effectively. Able to learn new computer applications as they evolve.

  • Schedules outside clinic appointments, diagnostic tests, non-invasive procedures, and surgical procedures. Coordinates with other departments involved in patient appointments and care, such as transportation and interpreter services.

  • Contacts patients regarding appointments or changes in appointments, as needed.

  • Acts as a courier between various departments for delivery and pick-up of confidential patient material.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Experience in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations.

  • Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course within 6 months from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent from a college or technical school.

  • 1 year related experience in a heathcare setting (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.).
