Swedish Medical Center Patient Services Coordinator - Ballard Teen Health Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) in Ballard Teen Health Center at Ballard High School in Seattle, WA .
The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role on the patient care team, demonstrating the Swedish values of patient-centered care and service, respect, caring and compassion; teamwork and partnership; continuous learning and improvement; and leadership.
In this position you will:
Handle all incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner
Transfer calls to appropriate person(s) within the clinic and/or take detailed messages.
Schedule patients’ appointments in-person at the reception desk or over the telephone. Provide training and orientation to the new staff
Ensure smooth clinic and patient flow by greeting and directing patients to their appointments, preparing the daily clinic schedule, maintaining patients files and records.
Provide check-in services, register new patients and collect co-pays as needed
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
One to two years customer service experience involving a multi-line phone system with a high volume telephone environment and extensive computer usage/experience
Must be able to work well with all members of the health care team and in a team environment
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
Ability to analyze and problem solve independently
Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service
Ability to deal with patients and staff under stressful conditions.
Basic computer knowledge required i.e. proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Ambulatory clinic experience preferred
