Swedish Health Services Patient Services Coordinator - Breast Care Center in Seattle, Washington

Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Breast Care Center at Swedish-First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Patient Services Coordinator serves as an integral part of the team at the Swedish Breast Imaging Center. As the first point of contact to the patient, they must exhibit exceptional customer service skills.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills in all interactions with patients and their families, coworkers and physicians, and affiliated office staff both in person and on the phone.
Answers and triages incoming phone calls. Takes messages as necessary and relays to appropriate staff. Mails or faxes reports at provider’s request. Schedules patients for upcoming appointments in Epic and completes Pre-registration if applicable.
Performs timely and accurate registration and check-in of arriving patients. Both Pre-registration and point of service registration processes in Epic must include all information needed to send complete and accurate claims information to the billing office including, but not limited to, accurate patient demographic and insurance information.
Notifies appropriate staff of patient arrival. Prints and distributes admit forms as necessary.
Processes all incoming departmental mail. Completes mail distribution of patient result letters, physician result letters and patient reminder notices. Logs outside films/CDs into Epic.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
Six (6) months experience performing general and specialized office duties
Experience in obtaining insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations
Experience with medical terminology and basic medical record processes
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Prior hospital or clinical experience
One (1) year scheduling experience
Experience with computerized scheduling or relational databases
