Swedish Medical Center Patient Services Coordinator II - Swedish Cancer Institute, Gynecology Oncology in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator II (0.4 FTE, Day Shift) to work at the Swedish Cancer Institute, Gynecology Oncology at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Patient Services Coordinator II provides support and clinic coordination of multiple patient care services as well as patient orientation for the Swedish Cancer Institute on multiple campuses, exercising independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical duties.
In this position you will:
Answer phones and schedule appointments as directed. Makes schedule adjustments as necessitated by the patient’s condition and assist with patient concerns.
Coordinates clinic schedule to determine availability for appointments.
Use SMC and SCI computer systems efficiently and effectively. Able to learn new computer applications as they evolve.
Coordinate with other departments involved in patient appointments and care, such as transportation and interpreter services.
Contact patients regarding appointments or changes in appointments, as needed. May perform discharge follow-up phone calls, as necessary.
Schedule inpatient admissions when requested.
Contactsinsurance to verify coverage and process authorizations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of MS Word and Windows based applications and general office equipment
Knowledgeable in medical terminology and diagnostic testing
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate Degree or equivalent from a college or technical school
Experience in a health care setting (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.)
Experience obtaining insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations
Strong customer service experience
Medical terminology and insurance experience a plus
