Swedish Medical Center Patient Services Coordinator - Medical Oncology in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Medical Oncology at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

We are seeking a detail focused, caring, and thoughtful individual to perform reception, insurance authorization, chart preparation, telephone triaging, and co-pay collection for the Medical Oncology practice. All duties accomplished with an exceptional customer service approach to optimize the patient's experience in the Swedish Cancer Institute. Exceptional compassion, sensitivity, and emotional stability are necessary with the Oncology population.

In this position you will:

  • Answer and triage incoming phone calls

  • Perform insurance authorization, chart preparation and co-pay collection

  • Act as a liaison with patients, families and other departments

  • Partner in the orientation and training of new staff

  • Perform timely and accurate registration and check-in of arriving patients

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Great attention to detail and excellence in multi-tasking

  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word and Windows based applications and general office equipment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with Epic

  • Minimum of one year related experience in a healthcare setting

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis in Health Care
