Swedish Health Services PET/CT Technologist in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a PET CT Technologist (Per Deim, Variable SHIFT) to work for the PET CT Department at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The PET CT Technologist is responsible for utilizing radiopharmaceuticals as well as oral and IV contrast agents to perform a variety of diagnostic PET, PET/CT and CT examinations. Utilizes a multi-slice CT scanner and power injector. Starts IVs and administers various contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals at the direction of the physician. Provides patient care services as needed in a professional, compassionate manner.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates complete understanding of PET technology; possesses in-depth knowledge of imaging techniques, computer processing, and radiopharmacy. Assures proper labeling of images including anatomy and correct patient information.

  • Acquire and analyze daily quality control to assure quality operation of PET and CT equipment. Perform weekly shutdown and quarterly SUV validation calibration as required.

  • Accurately prepares, dispenses and administers all radiopharmaceuticals, IV/oral/rectal contrast, and medications necessary for PET/CT imaging.

  • Consistently demonstrates the ability and knowledge to follow departmental protocols in order to produce high quality exams.

  • Follows established procedures for verification of physician order, utilizes double identifiers for patient ID, and assures appropriate history is obtained for exam type .

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program

  • At a time of hire must be certified with the Nuclear Medicine Technologists Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced registry in Nuclear Medicine (N)

  • Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Nuclear Medicine license

  • Recent graduates must pass the certification exam within one year of graduation and hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Additional CT training

  • PET and CT certification

  • One (1) year experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

  • Previous CT experience
