Swedish Medical Center Pharmacy Technician - Cancer Pharmacy in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Pharmacy Technician (1.0 FTE, Days) at the Swedish Issaquah Cancer Pharmacy in Issaquah, WA.

We are seeking a detail oriented, focused, caring, and thoughtful individual in pharmacy care, who would promote the goals and uphold the mission of Swedish Medical Center to provide excellent care to our diverse patient population.

In this position you will:

  • Perform inpatient pharmacy drug compounding, distribution,record keeping, and clerical activities under the supervision of a registeredPharmacist.• Compounding sterile chemo/hazardous and non-hazardoussterile IV products and routine medications.• Load, refill and troubleshoot PYXIS ES P automateddispensing cabinets.• Deliver medications to nursing units, clinics, andprocedural areas. Return and credit discontinuedmedications from the units back to thepharmacy in a timely manner.• Participate in monthly outdate andunit inspection program. • Communicating conciselyand effectively with patients, families, pharmacists, and other health careproviders in a friendly and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program

  • Current license to practice as a pharmacy technician in the State of Washington

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy or infusion pharmacy with sterile IV compounding of chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications
