Swedish Medical Center Philanthropy Officer - Foundation Major Gifts in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Philanthropy Officer (1.0 FTE, Days) in Foundation Major Gifts at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA
The Philanthropy Officer is an active participant in a multi-year effort to substantially grow Swedish Health Services' annual philanthropic support.
In this position you will:
Work with the Senior Director of Development, other Foundation leadership and Swedish physicians and caregiver partners to develop new and more diverse sources of philanthropic support for Swedish's institutional priories by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors capable of making gifts of $100,000 or more
Have knowledge of and experience with the process of philanthropy, including annual, major, capital and planning giving fundraising activities and best practices.
Understand the process and skills required in successfully identifying, qualifying, and developing relationships with high-potential donors and prospects.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimum five (5) years of development experience
Proven track record managing a successful annual or major giving program
Experience in a major, decentralized institution, preferably healthcare of higher education
Interest enthusiasm and affinity for fundraising and building relationships
Very strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to enthusiastically convey the needs of the Swedish Health System to individuals, foundations and corporations
Ability to relate to and work effectively with people at all levels, both within the institution and beyond
Sense of humor, confidence and willingness to "roll up one's sleeves"
A high degree of initiative, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail and a positive "can do" attitude
