Swedish Health Services Professional Development Specialist Relief - Clinical Education (ICU/Tele) in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Professional Development Specialist (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in the Clinical Education Department at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Professional Development Specialist will provide service groups with educational support to clinical staff and will be focused on staff clinical development and expertise. The Professional Development Specialist will work intimately with the service group director and Clinical Nurse Specialist to plan for the development of excellence in care. This position will emphasize the use of educational theory and expertise to foster clinical growth to increase the competency of staff and ensure safe and positive patient outcomes.
In this position you will:
Use multiple resources to assess the learning needs of staff and assist them in developing a personal professional growth plan
Plan and execute educational activities to meet the educational needs of staff and provide individualized and group activities to support growth in clinical expertise
Use appropriate tools to measure the adequacy of learning and absorption/application of information and remediate as necessary
Act as a consultant for individuals and groups regarding methods of educational delivery, curriculum development, and evaluation strategies
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Current active Washington State Registered Nurse license
Valid Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record
Experience in nursing leadership, including clinical experience in associated service line area
Competency in operating business software programs, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word
Proficient in educational tools/strategies, equipment and theories to tailor learning to specific audiences
