Swedish Medical Center Pulmonary Technician - Pulmonary Clinic First Hill in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Pulmonary Technician (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Pulmonary Clinic at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

Responsible for the day to day function of the Pulmonary Function department.Investigates and supports new programs to provide a variety of services relative to pulmonary function.

In this position you will:

  • Perform complete pulmonary function tests as well as cardiopulmonary exercise testing

  • Arrange for appropriate testing based on protocols and physician orders

  • Assist supervisor/manager in hiring & evaluating employees, and preparing & maintaining department budgets

  • Create a flexible staff and patient schedule to accommodate hospital and clinic needs

  • Schedule patients through electronic medical record, document procedures and initiate charges for test performed


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program

  • Registered or Certified Pulmonary Function Technician with the National Board for Respiratory Care.

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the WA State Department of Health

  • Minimum 1 year previous hospital based work experience, in Pulmonary Function

  • Completion of Pulmonary Function department orientation

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials

  • Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)

  • 2 years experience in performing testing including cardiopulmonary exercise testing
