Swedish Medical Center Referral Coordinator- Swedish Centralized Services in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Referral Coordinator to work in Swedish Centralized Services in Seattle, WA.
The Referral Coordinator capture defined referral information from Swedish Physician Division providers to specialists and facilities. Verify eligibility and benefits for risk patients.
In this position you will:
Process referrals in the electronicmedical record system (Epic). Timeliness of referral processing mustmeet department standards.
Implement systems and provide service toreduce provider time spent on referral process thus increasing timeavailable for direct patient care.
Obtain authorization from insurancecompanies in a timely manner for patient visits or procedures.
Facilitate the referrals to contractedprovider network and facilities.
Educate patients to be accountable fortheir benefit coverage and choosing a contracted specialist and maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans to educate providers and staff.
Requirements for this position include:
1 of year experience in clinic setting or medicalbilling office within the last three years
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with insurance authorizations
Familiarity with EMR
