Swedish Health Services Referral Coordinator - Swedish Centralized Services in Seattle, Washington
Description:
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Referral Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Swedish Centralized Services at Swedish Medical Group in Seattle, WA.
Capture defined referral information from Swedish Physician Division providers to specialists and facilities. Verify eligibility and benefits for risk patients.
In this position you will:
Maintain complete and accurate computer files on defined referrals in the computer system. Timeliness of referral processing meets NCQA Guidelines.
Implement systems and provide service to reduce provider time spent on referral process thus increasing time available for direct patient care.
Obtain authorization from insurance companies in a timely manner for patient visits or procedures.
Facilitate the referrals to contracted provider network and owner hospital facilities.
Educate patients to be accountable for their benefit coverage and choosing a contracted specialist.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Appropriate education in coding and medical terminology
One (1) year clinic setting or medical billing office within the last three years
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Medical billing experienceis a plus
