Swedish Medical Center Regulatory Compliance Specialist in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Shared Services is looking for a Regulatory ComplianceSpecialist (1.0 FTE, Day) in Corporate Complianceat Swedish in Seattle, WA.
Under theguidance of the Swedish Office of Compliance & Privacy’s ComplianceProgram, the Regulatory Compliance Specialist position provides compliance andprivacy program support to management across Swedish Health Services to implementan effective compliance program, in accordance with the Swedish Compliance Planand Compliance Work Plan. This positionmay participate in all aspects of the Compliance Program, including workforceorientation, compliance & privacy education, incident response &documentation, regulatory research, policy & procedure development,administration of the Conflicts of Interest disclosure process, compliancemonitoring and program-related project management.
In this position you will:
Provide compliance and privacy program support to management across Swedish Health Services to implement an effective compliance program in accordance with the Swedish Compliance Plan and Compliance Work Plan.
Participate in all aspects of the Compliance Program, including workforce orientation, compliance & privacy education, incident response & documentation,regulatory research & procedure development, administration of the Conflicts of Interest disclosure process, compliance monitoring and program-related project management.
Work in all entities under Swedish Health Services, including but not limited to, all acute care hospitals, standalone emergency departments, ventures, clinics, and employed providers.
Maintains and enters data in a variety of computer systems to track issues, education, disclosed conflicts, monitoring, project regulations, research, learning management, and general office functions.
Assist with the ongoing progression and maintenance of Swedish's compliance programmatic developments and enhancements.
Be able to demonstrate that he/she is committed to act in an ethical manner, including behaviors that promote team concepts and reflect Swedish Health Services' mission, core values and philosophy.
Minimum of a Bachelor’sDegree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combinationof education and experience.
Master’s Degree in healthcare administration or business administration
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance ("CHC") required upon one-year of hire.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum offive years of work experience in compliance, auditing, a regulatory environmentor equivalent. Healthcare experiencepreferred.
Personal computer skillsrequired (MS Word & MS Excel strongly preferred).
Ability to synthesize andanalyze federal and state regulatory requirements relative to HHS ComplianceProgram operations and HIPAA Privacy regulations.
Ability to define problems,collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to prioritize andorganize multiple projects and issues.
Ability to interpret anextensive variety of standards and regulations.
Ability to effectivelypresent information to educate diverse groups of people.
Ability and confidence towork independently with minimum supervisions.
Demonstrate strong peopleskills and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to respond and adjustto a dynamic changing regulatory and corporate environment.
