Swedish Medical Center Research Coordinator I - Lung Cancer Research in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Research Coordinator I (0.5 FTE, Day shift) to work in the Lung Cancer Research Department at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Research Coordinator I independently coordinates research and administrative tasks in support of one or more research studies. Works with study investigators and supervisor to address study-related issues. Backs up other coordinators as needed. Supports department financial performance through budgeting, billing and as directed. May develop specialized research instruments and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts or presentations. May entail regular after-hours support, occasional on-call work and occasional overnight business travel.

In this position you will:

  • Supports Research Coordinator II, III, and manager in conduct of study visits to include but not limited to the visit preparation, vital signs, adverse events, concomitant medications, data entry, and laboratory preparation and collection

  • Perform study procedures in accordance with the protocol after appropriate training to include fibroscans, breath test, finger sticks, ECGs, vital signs, body measurements and other procedures required per study

  • Attend research department and divisional meetings, clinical team meetings, research steering committees, journal clubs and other educational events

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Healthcare, or related field. Significant experience in research coordination can be substituted for education

  • Minimum one year of experience in related field

  • Basic knowledge of FDA research policies

  • Must be well versed in scientific terminology

  • Familiar with research protocols and standard study requirements

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or similar professional research certification
