Swedish Medical Center Research Coordinator II - Clinical Trials Research in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Research Coordinator II (1.0 FTE, Days) in Clinical Trials Research at Swedish First Hill located in Seattle, WA.

Independently coordinates research and administrative tasks in support of one or more research studies. Works with study investigators and supervisor to address study-related issues. Backs up other coordinators as needed. Supports department financial performance through budgeting, billing and as directed. May develop specialized research instruments and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts or presentations. Exhibits increased productivity and independence relative to Research Coordinator I. Trains other research coordinators in the proper conduct of research studies and participates in quality control activities, as directed.

In this position you:

  • Performs study procedure tasks as assigned and maintains knowledge of protocol requirements.

  • Registers patients to studies and monitors compliance.

  • Actively recruits study participants including screening consenting, correspondence.

  • Conducts patient visits and coordinates clinic visits.

  • Administers and monitors entire study protocol, audits and monitor visits. Serves as gatekeeper for all study-related procedures.

  • Coordinates and participates in qualification visits, initiation visits, and investigator meetings.

  • Coordinates study submissions to all appropriate review bodies.

  • Assists PI with data collection, abstraction, preparation, and editing for presentations and publications. Helps create posters, manuscripts and abstracts for publication.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in science, healthcare, or other related field). Significant experience in research coordination may be substituted for educational requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in related area

  • Basic knowledge of FDA research policies, other applicable federal regulations and/or GCP guidelines

  • Expertise in standard office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), standard office equipment (photocopiers, facsimiles, telephones, pagers, etc.)

  • Familiar with and comfortable with research methodology and the “scientific method”: for conducting research projects

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or similar professional research certification
