Swedish Health Services Respiratory Care Practitioner Coordinator - Respiratory Therapy in Seattle, Washington

Description:

$5,000 Signing Bonus/Retention Relocation Assistance Available (external candidates only)

Swedish is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner Coordinator (0.9 FTE, Days) to work for Respiratory Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

This position is responsible for keeping standards and procedures current, reviewing new equipment and supplies, maintaining and advancing the education of the therapists, maintaining and advancing the education of nursing relating to respiratory care, serves as a liaison between the department of respiratory care and other patient care areas, and assists the Manager in the annual evaluation of current employees and evaluation of new employees..

In this position you will:

  • Maintains all Job Responsibilities and competencies of the Respiratory therapist job code.

  • Acts as a proper preceptor to new therapists and oversees orientation to specific patient care areas.

  • Provides inservice education on critical care topics to the Respiratory Care staff, Nursing staff and other departments on multi campuses as needed.

  • Develops, implements, reviews, and revises standards, procedures, and protocols for all Pediatric, Infant and Neonatal patient care areas on multi campuses.

  • Is responsible to provide backup coverage to patient care areas as needed.

  • Consults with and advises staff therapists regarding the proper use of critical care equipment and monitors compliance with standards, procedures, and protocols on multi campuses.

  • Attends physician rounds, family conferences, and other meetings as a representative of the Respiratory Care Department

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program.

  • Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW.

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials are required.

  • Pediatric and Neonatal Coordinator must maintain active certifications in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) according to current standards of the AAP and AHA.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire

  • Three (3) years Clinical experience appropriate to the area coordinated

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Must have prior lead therapist experience or supervisory experience.
