Swedish Health Services Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Resident Respiratory Care Practitioner (0.9 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Resident Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness.
In this position you will:
Explain purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
Record all pertinent information of treatments and patient response to treatments on respiratory care records and patient chart.
Assess patients for appropriateness of therapy utilizing management guidelines and protocols; contact physician to make or suggest changes in therapy
Perform chest physical therapy treatments involving percussion, postural drainage, and suctioning.
Perform pulmonary function studies determining the volume, distribution, and movement of air in the respiratory system.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as needed
Qualifications:
Re quired qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited respiratory care program
Must be registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW
New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health (WAC)
Experienced acquired from Accredited Respiratory Care School
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC
Preference will be given to an individual who has completed a senior practicum in a specialty area
