Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner (0.9 FTE, NIGHT SHIFT) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

We are seeking a licensed respiratory therapist who will set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. May work with adult, pediatric and neonatal patient populations.

In this position you will:

• Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to the patient.

• Completes required Epic documentation, billing, scheduling and scanning as applicable.

• Gives clear, informative report to relief personnel.

• Adheres to departmental standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Initiates, operates, monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilation.

• Continually assess patient's respiratory function and ability to wean from mechanical ventilation.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program

• Must have completed Respiratory Care’s department orientation

• Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW

• Must be registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

• New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health WAC 246-928-530

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials

• Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)

• Six (6) months previous hospital based work experience, in the field of Respiratory Care
