Swedish Health Services Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy in Seattle, Washington
Description:
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner (0.9 FTE, NIGHT SHIFT) to work in Respiratory Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a licensed respiratory therapist who will set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. May work with adult, pediatric and neonatal patient populations.
In this position you will:
Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to the patient.
Completes required Epic documentation, billing, scheduling and scanning as applicable.
Gives clear, informative report to relief personnel.
Adheres to departmental standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
Initiates, operates, monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilation.
Continually assess patient's respiratory function and ability to wean from mechanical ventilation.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program
Must have completed Respiratory Care’s department orientation
Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health under Chapter 18.89 RCW
Must be registry eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
New graduates qualify for temporary practice if they have complied with the Washington State Department of Health WAC 246-928-530
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC)
Six (6) months previous hospital based work experience, in the field of Respiratory Care
