Swedish Health Services RN Navigator - System Perioperative Services in Seattle, Washington

Where you work matters! Swedish is looking for a RN Navigator - System Perioperative (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Perioperative Administration at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA
The Peri-operative RN Navigator is an essential part of a multidisciplinary team (Pre-admission Clinic, clinic staff, peri-op, nursing, providers, and surgical schedulers) responsible for ensuring coordinating future and same day surgery scheduling efforts for surgical patients.
In this position you will:
Provide leadership in clinical settings throughout surgical scheduling process as it relates to booking procedures, forecasting bed availability and has operational accountability for coordinating with nursing and non-nursing points of contact.
Accurately coordinate bed placement based on daily number of elective and urgent admissions for units
Continuously monitor surgical patient flow and placement, bed availability and keep concerned parties informed of ongoing status.
Act as a liaison between the medical center, surgeon’s offices, the PACU team and the nursing units. And all who play a crucial role in ensuring patients are scheduled for surgery w/ an appropriate discharge plan if medical condition is appropriate and patient is cleared, based on average LOS
Must be mindful, patient focused and customer service driven.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current RN licensure in the state of Washington (OR).
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certified.
Three (3) years of experience working within Peri-operative services, with specific emphasis on surgical case progression, throughput, a solid understanding of surgery scheduling and the downstream impacts of inefficiencies.
Two (2) years proficient in EPIC, Op-Time
Five (5) years Nursing experience.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing.
One (1) year Tableau, and spreadsheet applications. Familiarity with generalized reporting software,
One (1) year LEAN Six Sigma
