Swedish Health Services Scheduler in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Scheduler (1.0 FTE, Days) to work Medical Imaging Administration at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
Responsible for scheduling outpatient imaging services including: CT; MRI; Ultrasound; Nuclear Medicine; Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Responsible for obtaining payer authorization for imaging procedures to be scheduled. Responsible for the acquisition and distribution of clinically specific referrals, lab reports and history and physical reports to the appropriate imaging departments. Expected to creatively manipulate schedules to allow for optimal technologist/room/radiologist productivity - revenue generation. Assure that billing has the appropriate service authorizations. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are vital.
In this position you will:
Based on working knowledge of exams and patient preparation for same, schedules appointments for the following departments: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, and coordinate with the Heart Center schedulers for Interventional Radiologist time on US and CT Biopsies.
Coordinates Imaging Services exams with other hospital departments and physician offices, and prepares daily schedule for distribution.
Coordinates interpreters for patients.
Follows up on patient orders/referrals to facilitate making the correct appointment.
Keeps abreast of changing exam protocols for each department.
Working knowledge of EPIC and all scheduling functions. Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Swedish On-line.
Explains procedure to patient and provides directions to the Medical Center.
Confirmation calls to patient the day prior to scheduled exam.
Sends patient orders/referrals to medical records.
Required qualifications this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
1 year of medical clerical experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree in Medical Services or equivalent educ/experience
1 year of medical scheduling experience with a radiology focus.
