Swedish Health Services Senior Building Automation Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Senior Building Automation Engineer (1.0 FTE, Day) to work in Facility Management at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Building Automation Engineer (BAE) Senior troubleshoots and provides technical guidance and support for complex building automation and control systems. In addition, this position will also be responsible for Capital Budgeting, Energy Related Projects, and Instrumentation. In addtiion, this position will be responsible for knowlege of all Building Automation Engineer responsibilities inlcuidng monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting mechanical systems performance for proper and efficient operation including pumps, fans, valves, dampers, terminal units, heat transfer equipment, fluid flow conditions, air and water system balance. Providing technical guidance and support including set-up, verification, operation, and troubleshooting complex building automation and control systems; verifying functional performance of systems.

In this position you will:

  • Building Automation Engineer Senior

  • Knowledge of the application of mechanical devices used for delivery of ventilation, steam, chilled water, hot water, and humidification.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, schematic, and ladder diagrams, and control sequences, various software languages and formats.

  • Analyze systems and controls strategies, implement changes in control sequences, and troubleshoot system issues.

  • Make recommendations for improving the operation of automated building systems with a focus on energy conservation and regulatory compliance. Support and implement control strategies in support of building energy management goals.

  • Trains and instructs employees in methods or procedures using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.

  • Assist Facility Engineering staff and contractors with maintaining DDC systems. Oversees implementation of agreed upon maintenance services by controls companies.

  • Coordinate contractor activity with regards to HVAC and automated building system.

  • Helps management coordinate assignments for maintenance, repair, and installation of building automation systems components. Supports and provides assistance in developing and maintaining control standards

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering in Controls, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Must possess experience Commissioning of Building Automation Systems, Programming, Building Automation Systems, graphics creation, and fire alarm system testing and troubleshooting.

  • Eight (8) years experience in the design and implementation of DDC building control systems including programming, troubleshooting, operation and maintenance.
