Swedish Medical Center Simulation Program Coordinator and Facilitator - Gossman Simulation Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Simulation Program Coordinator and Facilitator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work at the Gossman Simulation Center at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Simulation Program Coordinator and Facilitator is responsible for the development of simulation programs for specific clinical and non-clinical hospital departments. Working with the manager of simulation services, the coordinator plans and implements multi-disciplinary, in-situ, team based simulations. This position works collaboratively with the simulation team, unit and department leaders and content experts to design and implement meaningful and effective simulation programs focused on quality, safety, communication, role clarity, workflow and teamwork.
In this position you will:
Develop specific programmatic areas insuring quality and effective simulations
Works to develop and expand simulations in the specific area to meet quality and productivity metrics established by the simulation department
Creates simulation programs with specific objectives and outcome measures and is responsible to insure that the participating teams meet the objectives
Collects outcome measurement data prior to and post simulation to identify and quantify the behavior change and benefit of the simulation
Use skilled debriefing to guide the team to reflect on and apply information and skills included in the simulation moving the team to a higher level of skill and clarity
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Science in Nursing
10 years plus of RN experience
Registered Nurse in Washington State
Washington State Drivers license and proof of insurance
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to both independently and collaboratively work with providers and staff
Demonstrates an engaging, respectful leadership style in work with staff, patients and customers
Ability to read, write and speak clearly and concisely in English
Must have demonstrated attention to detail, follow-through and project completion skills
Knowledge of curriculum development, evaluation and debriefing
Must have demonstrated customer service attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
Must have demonstrated dependability
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Current NRP provider certification
5 years of RN inpatient hospital experience
Experience with high-fidelity patient simulators
Knowledge of AHRQ TeamSTEPPS helpful
Experience in staff training or education and evidence of ability to teach effectively
