Swedish Medical Center Simulation Technology Specialist - Gossman Simulation Center in Seattle, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Simulation Technology Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to work for the Gossman Simulation Center at the Swedish First Hill Campus in Seattle, WA. Under the direction of the simulation center director and the simulation technology coordinator, the simulation technology specialist will operate simulation equipment and technology during healthcare simulation scenarios in-situ at Swedish, Providence, outside hospitals and at the Gossman Center for Advanced Healthcare Simulation. In addition the specialist will help to maintain simulation technology and equipment, including computers, audio/visual equipment, and lab equipment. M ay be responsible for preparing equipment for simulation, preparing equipment for local or national travel, transporting equipment locally in own vehicle and setting up equipment where the simulation will be conducted.

In this position you will:

  • Manage the organization of supplies

  • Prepare for simulation activities

  • Maintain the center and equipment including manikins, computers, hospital equipment and space

  • Perform some administrative duties including managing communication tools, data collection and collation, preparation of educational materials, acquisition of supplies, tracking and scheduling of supplies and equipment

Under the direction of the simulation center director and the simulation technology coordinator, the simulation technology specialist will operate simulation equipment and technology during healthcare simulation scenarios in-situ at Swedish and Providence and outside hospitals and at the Gossman Center for Advanced Healthcare Simulation. In addition the specialist will help to maintain simulation technology and equipment, including computers, audio/visual equipment, and lab equipment.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree in Technology or Health-related field preferred.

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment and/or knowledge of healthcare operations

  • Proficient with computer hardware equipment and software applications, including those relevant to simulator functions

  • Proficient in use of audio/visual equipment (i.e., video cameras, monitors, microphones), including recording, duplication, and editing

  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment problems in a timely fashion

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Work requires occasional heavy lifting of equipment
