Swedish Medical Center Simulation Technology Specialist - RN Residency in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Simulation Technology Specialist (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work for the RN Residency at the Swedish First Hill Campus in Seattle, WA.
Working under the direction of the Clinical Education and Practice Manager and with the Simulation Center Manager, the Simulation Technologist will operate simulation equipment and technology during healthcare simulation scenarios within the Swedish Simulation Center and in patient care areas at Swedish Medical Center campuses.
Programs and tests software to model simulators’ (computerized manikins) physiological responses to instructor specifications.
Operates, maintains, and repairs computerized manikins (software and hardware), task trainers, and related multimedia peripherals.
Provides technical assistance regarding manikin operation.
Conducts audio/visual recording and transfer to archival format for analysis.
Coordinates props placement and set up to create a virtual healthcare setting, and take down/cleaning of simulation and healthcare equipment.
Participates in simulation role-playing under the direction of the educator.
Manages acquisition of supplies, tracking and scheduling of supplies and equipment.
Manages communication tools, data collection and collation and prepares educational materials.
Coordinates simulation and technology equipment for local travel.
Responsible for overall organization of supplies for all education events and general space organization
If appropriately trained, may observe staff for competency demonstration
Required qualifications for this position include:
Two years experience working directly with simulation equipment
Proficient with computer hardware equipment and software applications, including those relevant to simulator functions.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient in use of audio/visual equipment (i.e., video cameras, monitors, microphones), including recording, duplication, and editing. Ability to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment problems in a timely fashion.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a team player, flexible, and be able to make changes quickly, have strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
Work requires occasional heavy lifting of equipment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Advanced Degree in Technology or Health related field
