Swedish Health Services Speech and Language Pathologist - Inpatient Speech Therapy in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work for Inpatient Speech Therapy at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The speech language pathologist (SLP) delivers and supervises others in the delivery of services in the areas of communication, cognition, and swallowing. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, appropriate disciplines, significant others, and the patient. These services are delivered in compliance with ethical standards, policies and procedures, national and professional standards, state practice acts for physical therapists, and current accepted state of the art practice.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate complex problem solving skills in both patient care and department operations
Perform patient assessment/reassessment. Establishes plan of care with the patient, which is appropriate to the patient's needs and allows for informed consent or refusal
Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Documents on day of visit, usually at time of visit
Carries out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail
Supervises students as assigned
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Speech/language pathology from an accredited program
Valid Washington state speech-language pathology license or interim permit required
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
