Swedish Medical Center Sterilizer Repair Technician - Clinical Engineering in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Shared Services is looking for a Sterilizer Repair Technician (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Clinical Engineering Department at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
In this position you will:
Perform highly skilled work in the repair, preventative maintenance, and safety testing of sterilization equipment, surgical tables, surgical lights, and blanket warmers.
Coach and help develop less experienced staff in the repair and maintenance of assigned equipment.
Work with the Sterile Processing and Surgery departments on budgeting for new equipment.
You will be considered an expert in the disassembly and re-assembly of complex electronic and electromechanical devices.
Must be skilled in the operation of specialized test equipment, schematic reading, and technical manuals.Have the ability to choose the most cost effective equipment repair method, either component or circuit board, or mechanical assembly.
Work independently and requires minimal direct supervision.
Accept other work as assigned by department manager.
Document all work in accordance with departmental and organization policies.
Will be working in a variety of clinical environments often with frequent interruptions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimum, combined total 10 years education and experience repairing and servicing sterilizers, surgery lights and tables.
AAS degree in electronics from an accredited program. Military training and factory training may be considered as an alternative
- AAMI/BMET certification preferred.
