Swedish Medical Center Supervisor - Cardiovascular Diagnostics Imaging Center in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Supervisor (1.0 FTE, Day) to work for The Cardiovascular Diagnostic Imaging Center at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
Responsible for the
clinical and operational activities of the Swedish Cardiovascular Diagnostic
Imaging Center Cherry Hill campus. Responsible for developing, implementing,
and maintaining systems that support operations and patient care while
complying with Swedish Medical Center overall policies including assisting with
implementation of clinical information systems, human resources policies,
direct personnel management, establishing and enforcing standards of patient
care, in support of providing cost effective, high quality diagnostic
non-invasive patient care. Assures the
provision of exemplary customer service while modeling service excellence
behaviors to all staff. Provides direct
patient care when needed and appropriate to license or credential. This
position requires strong triage and leadership skills at all times. Must have
strong organization and communication skills and ability to adapt to changing
work demands and work environment.

I n this position you will:
Assesses staffing patterns and evaluates the needs of the different services. Assures appropriate staffing levels and skill mixes to ensure cost-effective, quality patient care. Makes recommendations to management regarding these elements.
Responsible for assisting in hiring, counseling, and managing staff in the clinical areas. Works closely and communicates frequently with the manager before taking significant corrective action. Collaborates with the manager to complete performance evaluations and competencies of staff in a timely manner.
Responsible for direct day-to-day supervision and management of the staff. Acts as a mentor and a role model in the provision of patient care.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring systems within the departments to include patient flow, computers, billing, and phone systems. Problem-solves operational aspects of the departments, coordinating with physicians on patient care issues.
Responsible for compliance with OSHA, WSHA, JCAHO standards, setting job and service standards that are consistent with the needs of the services, and initial orientation and ongoing education of staff. Assures oversight of payroll system.
Monitors and provides critical thinking skills to help problem-solve when needed in the Heart and Vascular centralized scheduling area. Works in coordination with the Patient Services Coordinator and Heart Center Schedulers.
Provides recommendations to management regarding budgetary process. Monitors and evaluates financial compliance to budget, making operational adjustments when called for.
Participates in planning, implementing, and monitoring Quality Improvement activities and staff competency programs, providing guidance and feedback to staff and physicians.
Assists manager to create and maintain a practice environment that encourages staff development, retention of staff, customer service, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and patient/family centered care.
Participates in developing and implementing the operational plan and establishing department-based goals. Assists in maintaining and writing protocol and procedures for the departments. Participates in planning and preparing for monthly staff meetings. Serves as a role model and resource to all levels of staff in the departments.
Serves as a qualified backup for echocardiographic procedures and other positions in the event of staff shortage. Learns the necessary equipment to provide technical support to the ECG clinical areas. Is able to operate a motorized vehicle to support the mobile outreach program if needed.
Participates in the identification, planning and implementation of ongoing educational programs for all levels of staff and ensures active participation of staff in educational activities and research. Helps to coordinate the supervision of the Ultrasound student program.
Required qualifications for this position include :
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) OR Associate degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound with a specialty in adult echocardiography
Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Washington or Required Registery with theAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) for adult echo
BLS Certification or ACLS
Previous lead, charge RN or supervisory experience.
Experience with non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing and/or
Experience with Critical care, Emergency orTelemetry
