Swedish Health Services Supervisor Clinical Engineering - Clinical Engineering in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Supervisor Clinical Engineering (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Clinical Engineering at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.

The Clinical Engineering Supervisor assumes operational accountability for the Swedish Clinical Engineering Services Department. S/he ensures that the department activities are consistent with SMC values, ethical principles and our mission. S/he will exhibit behaviors that enhance professional performance and reflect the commitment and philosophy of Swedish. Through the use of leadership skills and promoting department productivity that includes staff involvement in problem solving, the Supervisor will work to maintain a positive work environment. Assures adequate allocation of staff resources for the safe and reliable use and service of medical equipment. Informs the Senior Manager, Clinical and Medical Imaging Engineering of emergent or unusual events, trends, problem resolution or improvements to Department operations.

In this position you will:

  • Assist with interdepartmental Regulatory Compliance (Risk Management, Accreditation Team, Legal, EOC, Quality Councils & Safety Officers) to ensure medical device safety for patients and caregivers.

  • Collaborate with Department Managers regarding medical equipment and operational practice and/or workflows.

  • Assist with risk mitigation in regards to root cause analysis and addressing EQVR’s in potential patient/caregiver harm.

  • Assist with alerts and recalls regarding FDA, CMS and Manufacturer’s as well as the requirements of the Safe Medical Device Act.

  • Provide daily supervision for the CE department by scheduling shifts, work assignments and tasks:

  • Assist in developing plans implementing labor productivity metrics and defining goals. Including Annual Leave, OT Control and other labor activities

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degreein Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent

  • Five (5) years Technical Clinical Engineering Department work experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Supervisory or lead experience

  • AAMI

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology Management or equivalent
