Swedish Medical Center Supervisor of Plant Engineering Services in Seattle, Washington

The Supervisor of Plant Engineering Services is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction, and for ensuring that the standards of service are met in a manner consistent with SMC’s mission and values.
In this position you will:
Manage the Engineering Services budgets
Implement the Utility Management Plan and the Preventative Maintenance program
Assist in the development of the annual labor, operating and capital budgets
Manage the Engineering Services staff to insure the consistent, safe, and reliable operation of all utility systems, mechanical space and related equipment, and to enhance their value and enable their highest use in accomplishing the organization’s goals
Be responsible for selection, standardization and implementation of building automation and Life Safety systems at all Swedish campuses
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED
Must have at least ten years of plant operations and maintenance experience with at least three of those years in a management position
Must have experience with most utility and life safety systems
Must have at least three years of experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of computer-based preventive maintenance programs
Must have experience with all hospital plant and utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, steam, medical air, medical vacuum and control air.
Must have completed a broad range of formal, specialized training courses pertaining to plant operations and maintenance functions
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
