Swedish Health Services Supervisor Perioperative Central Services - Orthopedic Surgical Sterile Processing in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Supervisor Perioperative Central Services (1.0 FTE, Night Shift) to work in the Orthopedic Surgical Sterile Processing at First Hill in Seattle, WA.
Central Services includes all sterile processing activities and customers but are not limited to, Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, GI, Interventional Services, hospital clinics, and outside vendors. The Supervisor is responsible for performing a variety of duties associated with the efficient operation of Central Services in order to ensure high quality product delivery and efficient service to customers.
In this position you will:
Administers and coordinates staff training programs to ensure participation and demonstration/documentation of competency.
Develops, monitors and performs audits for performance measures and implements PI measures to achieve the needed goals.
Supervises all processes and staff related to the decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instrumentation, case cart assembly and acts as a resource in all areas of expertise for departmental staff.
Supports performance improvement and provides requested data and reports to the manager.
Assures the complete, accurate and on-time availability of sterile instrumentation, supplies and/or equipment for future cases (Pre-planning).
Prepares personnel schedules with the approval of the manager and assigns daily staffing.Works with the Manager in reviewing, writing, maintaining, and updating departmental policies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Equivalent education/experience (1:1) will substitute for each year of college not completed.
4 years Progressive work-related experience in sterile processing or surgical services with at least two years in a leadership role.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Focus in healthcare or business. Or equivalent educ/experience
Successful completion of a Central Service technician course preferred or Central Service work history.
Demonstrated prior experience working with an instrument tracking system.
Experience working in a union environment is an advantage.
