Swedish Medical Center System Director of Facility Services - Facility Management in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Health Services is looking for a System Director of Facilities Management (1.0 FTE, Days) in Seattle, WA.

The System Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the performance, maintenance and regulatory compliance of all facilities making up the Swedish Health Services real estate portfolio. The Director of Facilities Management will provide leadership to ensure a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction and ensures that the standards of service are met for all Facilities teams in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Swedish.

In this position you will:

  • Facilitate quality improvement programs and processes which support the values of Swedish Health System in an efficient manner with special attention to system standardization and a focus on establishing consistent best practices across all campuses and locations.

  • Be accountable for the development and oversight of budgets for all Facility Engineering and Facilities Construction departments.

  • Provide support and direction as an integral part of the Swedish planning, design and construction management teams.

  • Insure the physical plant infrastructure, systems, documentation and equipment meet regulatory guidelines and requirements.

  • Provide a single point of contact for facilities surveys

  • Report directly to the Swedish Chief Real Estate Officer


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or industrial engineering required

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

  • Must have at least five years of progressively responsible healthcare facilities experience, including at least three years of campus management responsibilities.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • A Professional Engineer’s license registered with the State of Washington is desirable.

  • Previous health care facilities management experience with multiple campuses is preferred.
