Swedish Health Services Vascular Sonographer II in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Vascular Sonographer II (0.5 FTE, Variable Shift )to work for the Vascular Ultrasound Department at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Vascular Sonographer II is responsible for performing noninvasive diagnostic vascular studies using ultrasound imaging and non-imaging physiological instrumentation.
In this position you will:
Prepares patient for examination; obtains the patient history through interview and medical record review, explains testing procedures; performs physical examination.
Selects and performs appropriate examinations as necessary based on the patient assessment and initial physician order. Prioritizes inpatient exams based on acuity, coordinating patient care with other departments.
Performs and evaluates non-invasive ultrasound and physiological examinations on inpatients, outpatients and research participants in the areas of extracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral venous, peripheral arterial and visceral vessels. May perform intracranial cerebrovascular exams.
Performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound studies during surgical and endovascular procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Satisfactory completion of training program accredited by the American Medical Association – Committee on Allied Health education (AMA-CAHEA) for vascular ultrasound.
Current RVT registration with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in vascular technology or meets the ARDMS requirements and must be registered within one year of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
2 years general vascular scanning experience.
1 year scanning patients in Neuro Critical Care and Stroke units
Experience testing patients in an NCCU and stroke unit.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic or Vascular Ultrasound or equivalent experience
